Sweet corn season is upon us, and Willa got an early start. 🌽

When Willa couldn’t keep food down and her energy started dropping, her family knew something wasn’t right.

Turns out, Willa had eaten a corn cob that was causing an obstruction. She went to surgery that same day to have it removed and was able to head home to recover with her family. A few weeks later, she was back to her happy self!

The cost of an unexpected surgery can be a lot for any family. Thanks to Mission’s subsidized care, Willa was able to get the surgery she needed and get back home to the people who love her.

After a full workup, it was determined that because of the mass’s size, location, and appearance, it would need to be carefully removed by our Advanced Surgery Team. Thanks to their expertise, and Missions financial assistance option’s, this sweet girl is back to her playful self with only a tiny scar on top of her head.

A choice between a $10,000 surgery or euthanizing a beloved pet is devastating. But thankfully, Mission was there for Plum and his family. As his mom shared: “You guys are the reason we got to bring him home.”

When Plum swallowed a piece of string, his family didn’t know how they’d save him. But after an hour drive to Mission Animal Hospital, lifesaving surgery became possible. Plum sailed through and went home that very night to his sister kitty, Silo!

This is exactly why we do what we do. 💙 Because they’re family.

A choice between a $10,000 surgery or euthanizing a beloved pet is devastating. But thankfully, Mission was there for Plum and his family. As his mom shared: “You guys are the reason we got to bring him home.”

Meet Nova, a young mama cat who came to Mission Animal Hospital in one of the most fragile moments of her life.
Just three days after giving birth, her owner noticed something terrifying. Nova hadn’t eaten in two days, was exhausted and dehydrated, and was still trying to care for her newborn kittens.

Her family rushed her to us, scared and unsure what to do.

Our team discovered a severe uterine prolapse — a life‑threatening emergency. Nova needed urgent surgery to survive and to keep caring for her babies.But her owner was facing financial hardship, and the cost felt impossible.

So Mission stepped in. We helped her apply for a grant, set up a payment plan, and made sure nothing stood between Nova and the care she needed.

Nova underwent surgery and recovered beautifully. The moment she reunited with her kittens, she went right back to caring for them. ❤️

Today, Nova is healing, nursing, and finally getting the chance to be the mom her kittens need. This is why Mission Animal Hospital exists — to keep pets and families together when it matters most.

Wesley, a 10‑year‑old Wire Fox Terrier with the gentlest eyes, has become a familiar face here at Mission. Earlier this year, he came in after a scary episode of throwing up, and with some care, he bounced back quickly. But just recently, he had another flare‑up with vomiting and a bit of blood in his stool, so his family brought him straight to us again.

Senior pups like Wesley can have sensitive stomachs, but he handled the whole visit like a champ. Our team ran a full set of tests, and thankfully, everything looked normal — no signs of pancreatitis or major intestinal disease. With fluids, anti‑nausea meds, and a few days of tummy‑soothing care at home, Wesley is stable and already starting to feel better.

We’re happy to see this sweet guy home with his tail up and his spirits high!
