Why do you volunteer with Mission Animal Hospital?

I discovered Mission when I was home for the summer and was looking for ways that I could help out my community. I've always loved medicine (and animals), so I felt like I hit the jackpot with Mission. My first childhood dog spent a long time in a neighboring animal hospital due to various conditions, and I knew that he was given the comfort he needed there in his last days. I realized if I could help be a part of the team to save someone's pet, or at the very least give them comfort, then that's where I wanted to be. I fell in love with the people, the animals, and the community here, so volunteering has become the most fun and impactful thing I do whenever I'm back in Minnesota! What's your favorite volunteer task in the hospital?

I love working at HQHV (High Quality High Volume Spay Neuter Clinics) and cleaning the surgical instruments, as well as making the packs. It's a very fast paced day and I really appreciate the impact I get to see with the rescue organizations, as well as the hands-on work it provides. I've also met some of the sweetest animals!! What do you do when you're not volunteering here?

I go to college at the University of Rochester in New York! I'm a neuroscience major and love to kickbox, dance, and travel as much as I can. Do you have any pets?

Yes! Two dogs (Murray and Oslo) and a cat (Musette)

Tell us about a pet that had a big impact on your life

My cat has definitely had the biggest impact on my life. A beautiful calico,

we got her from a daycare I went to when I was little since their cat had a bunch of kittens that they couldn't keep. She's been around for most of my life now and has been there for me through literally everything. She's the absolute best cuddle buddy and loves to sleep on my pillow.
