Meet Jeri! She joined the Mission Animal Hospital volunteer team at the end of 2024 and has since volunteered more than 17 hours! As a full time student, it can be tough to balance classes, schoolwork, and life, but somehow Jeri finds time to also give back to Mission. Jeri currently attends Normandale, and will be going to the University of Minnesota in the fall. It's through this incredible generosity of time that volunteers like Jeri help keep our hospital running smoothly, so our staff can see as many patients as possible. Thank you, Jeri!

Why do you volunteer with Mission Animal Hospital?
I volunteer with Mission Animal Hospital because I love being able to provide support for affordable veterinary care for animals and their owners.
What's your favorite volunteer task in the hospital?
My favorite task is filling the flush syringes.
What do you do when you're not volunteering here?
When I'm not volunteering, I like hiking or hanging out with friends.
Do you have any pets?
I don't have any pets right now, but I've had two black labs and a handful of cats in the past. I spend a lot of time with my friend's pets instead and want to adopt a cat or dog when I'm able to.
Tell us about a pet that had a big impact on your life.
I used to have a black lab named Joshi who loved everyone (especially squirrels). She would always greet me at the door when I came home and wake me up in the morning. She was a part of my family and is the reason that I love dogs.
What's the most memorable moment in your time volunteering with Mission Animal Hospital?
I can't think of a specific moment, but my favorite part of volunteering at Mission is seeing pets recover and working with staff that cares about every animal.
Why should others join the volunteer team at Mission Animal Hospital?
People should join the team because it's a meaningful way to make a difference and it leaves you feeling rewarded after every shift.
