Title: Client Service Specialist/Rescue Coordinator
1. What do you do at Mission and what does an “average” day look like?
I am Mission's Rescue Coordinator as well as a Client Service Specialist. An average day here is VERY busy, and no day is ever the same! We take on such a broad range of cases on a day to day basis. I learn something new every day and continue to be inspired by my coworkers, as well as the clients I interact with.
2. Tell us about a patient/client that sticks with you.
Just last week I was reunited with a dog that had been here in 2018 as a puppy that was very ill and needed a life saving surgery. I remember this dog specifically because I had pictures of him as a puppy on my phone- it was so amazing to see him as a beautiful, fully grown husky living his best life! I shared the photos I had on my phone with his owner and felt a lot of gratitude and love for this dog that was given a second chance. I love watching all of our clients puppies/kittens grow up!
3. What drew you to Mission?
Mission's business model is what drew me here initially. The fact that we are a 501(c)3 Non-Profit and can offer accessible care to everyone really makes me feel like I am making a difference when I come to work. I love being able to offer different options when clients feel they don't have any options left, we will always do everything we can here to preserve the human-animal bond. It's so important.
4. Are you a cat or a dog person?
When I started working here, I was mostly a cat person. After 3+ years of working here, I can confidently say I can't imagine my life without dogs and am hoping to adopt one (or more) very soon! Give me all of the cats and dogs!
5. Tell us about your pets!
I am a very proud owner of two very large (we are working on it!) 9 year old sister cats named Neko and Suki. I adopted them from a Humane Society in Michigan when they were 3 months old and we are all best buds. They are the snuggliest cats of all time and have big personalities, they make me laugh every day.
6. Anything else you would like folks to know?
I sincerely love coming to work every day and meeting all of our clients and their pets. This job is such a huge part of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way.
